 The NYC fire museum

Article by Julia Stiles

Your mom always told you not to play with matches. But if you're into fire and firefighters this could be the place for you.

It's called The NYC Fire Museum. There are two floors of fire memorabilia. Everything from old fire engines, to old rescue tools, portraits of fire chiefs, old fire extinguishers and even a real stuffed rescue dog (as in taxidermy!).

Did you know that up until 1910 firefighters used horses to get to fires?

Summer is heating up, so be sure to take a look at the hottest place in town - The NYC Fire Museum.

New York City Unearthed is located at 278 Spring Street in Manhattan. For more information call: 212-691-1303.
